Sommtable is an innovative platform that connects users with world-class experts—including Sommeliers, Brewers, Chefs, and Distillers—for curated tasting experiences. We developed a custom WordPress environment that serves as a high-performance marketplace. The centerpiece of this project is a sophisticated integration that syncs multiple event reservations from an external app directly to the website, ensuring real-time availability and effortless booking.

The Challenge: Syncing Expertise with Availability

Marketplaces that rely on live reservations face unique technical hurdles. We addressed:

1. Real-Time Synchronization: Ensuring that when an expert is booked via the app, the website availability reflects that change instantly to prevent double-bookings.
2. Finding the Expert: With over 6,500 results, we needed to create a high-speed search and filtering system that helps users find the right pro (e.g., "Winemakers" or "Coffee & Tea Experts") in seconds.
3. Geographic Discovery: Developing a "Toggle Map to Globe" feature that allows users to visualize where experts and experiences are located globally.

Technical Solutions & Strategic Execution

We leveraged the flexibility of WordPress to build a platform that feels like a bespoke luxury concierge service.

1. Advanced App Integration: We engineered a custom bridge between Sommtable and their reservation app, allowing for automated event syncing and streamlined calendar management for the experts.
2. "Find An Expert" UI: Developed a clean, category-driven navigation (Brewers, Chefs, Chocolate Experts, etc.) paired with a high-performance map interface for location-based searches.
3. Expert Branding Profiles: Created custom post types for experts that showcase their credentials, specialty areas, and live booking widgets, giving each professional a dedicated "digital storefront."
